Churches as Parenting Partners (CAPP)
Mission Statement:
"Community churches/individuals providing support and nurturing to former foster
children in an effort to enhance their opportunities for success in higher education"
PROGRAM GOALS:
For college/technology students transitioning from foster care to independent living
while attending college/technology schools to receive community and church support
TYPES OF SUPPORT:
Acknowledgements for special holidays, birthdays and achievements
Periodic Stipends (i.e. gift cards, gas cards, etc.)
Community/Church Liaison
PROGRAM CRITERIA:
Student
High School graduate or General Equivalence Diploma.
Enrolled in an accredited college, university or technology school.
Willing to enter into a covenant agreement with church ministry/appropriate
individual/entity.
Willing to provide brief personal profile.
Submit an assessment of needs worksheet
Parent Partner: (Church/Community)
Attend training workshop.
Review personal profile and assessment of needs worksheet.
Parent Partner will be available to meet with student within thirty (30) days following
training workshop.
Partner will provide mid-year and end of the year evaluation and assessment.
Partner, along with student and OCOC CCSSP Coordinator will establish an annual case plan.
